Our Yoga Journey During This Course
| At Pankaj Yogpeeth, we don't simply teach you yoga; we also help you discover the spirit of Nepal. Pokhara, which means "the Jewel of the Himalaya," has clean mountain air, snow-covered Annapurna peaks, and calm lakes that mirror the sky. | ![]() |
Venture to Fewa Lake
Mount Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range perfectly reflected on the glassy water. It's the kind of view that makes you just stop and stare. The Tal Barahi Temple is on its own island in the middle. Take a boat there and feel like you're in another universe, even though it's only 4 kilometres from the city centre.
Discover Mahendra Cave
This huge limestone cave in Kali Khola has beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, which are very unusual in Nepal. Every year, thousands of people come to walk through this natural wonder, which has a statue of Lord Shiva inside. It feels like going into a secret room on Earth.
Marvel at the Shanti Stupa
This shiny white peace pagoda sits on Anadu Hill at 1,100 meters and has views of Fewa Lake, Pokhara, and the whole Annapurna range. Nichidatsu Fujii, a Japanese monk, built it in 1973 with sacred Buddha relics. It's not simply a temple; it's where the ground meets the sky. The view alone is worth the journey.
Pokhara Bazaar (Purana Bazaar)
The main centre of Pokhara is about 4 kilometres north of Lakeside. Take the bus to this old market and see what real Nepal is like: tiny lanes, stores full of spices, local life, and the Bindhyabasini Temple nearby. This is the Pokhara that tourists hardly ever see, and it's totally worth it.
Patale Chango (Davis Falls)
Water from Phewa Lake plunges down and vanishes into a 500-foot underground tunnel. Named after a Swiss woman who tragically drowned here in 1961, this "Underworld's Waterfall" is mesmerizing. The water travels through the mysterious Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave below, which you can explore if you're feeling adventurous. It's nature's underground secret and one of Nepal's most unique wonders.
Most Important - Food
Food is more than simply nutrition during a yoga retreat; it's an important aspect of your change. We care so much about our sattvic food since what you eat affects both your body and your mind.Think about it: yoga, pranayama, and meditation all use energy all the time. You need to eat food that really nourishes you, tasty, wholesome, organic meals that help you practice instead of making you feel heavy.
What Makes Our Food Unique?
| Hygienic | Healthy |
| Protein | Tasty |
People all across the world know about our food since it tastes so good and comes in so many different kinds. An expert chef makes each meal fresh using only organic vegetables. Everything is vegetarian and vegan-friendly, and there are seasonal fruits, fresh juices, and traditional dishes that celebrate the culture of the area where the retreat is held. We also respect your dietary demands. If you need certain meals, we'll do our best to make sure you have them. Your retreat cost covers all meals.
The Yogic Way for Eating
Yogis and nutritionists have distinct ideas about eating. We don't count proteins, lipids, and carbs. Instead, we look at how food affects your energy and mind through three qualities: Satva, Rajas, and Tamas. Sattvic food gives you energy, helps you feel light, and makes you want to do yoga. Rajasic food might make you feel anxious and restless. Tamasic food, including overly sweet meals, makes you feel tired and lazy.We only eat sattvic meals since they help you practice and change.

Ancient Food Wisdom - Traditional yogic practice says you should eat two big meals per day, with at least 6-8 hours between them (or 5 hours if that's not possible). In between meals? Nothing at all, or maybe some fresh fruit. This pattern maintains your energy steady and your digestive system healthy.Fresh food is essential. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and sprouts should make up 40% of your meals on a sattvic diet. That's why you can always have fresh salads with your dinner here. You receive the most fibre, vitamins, and minerals from food when you consume it raw and fresh. Cooking often destroys these things. This isn't just about eating; it's about taking care of your whole self while you practice, recover, and grow.
